Risa Hontiveros, Yellowish Akbayan, and Yeah, the Cybercrime Law

To Risa Hontiveros, mother of CARPER, and to Akbayan, Noynoy’s partylist paborito, have you really read the whole Cybercrime Law? If you have, then you wouldn’t be so fast as to say that it is not entirely repressive! Yes, it has provisions about child pornography and cybersex, but it was obviously INSERTED para lang masabi na mayroon. And instead of criminalizing the capitalists/operators of cybersex dens and child pornography, the Act will penalize and criminalize the prostituted! Ergo, there’s nothing good about the act. In fact, it has surpassed Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on at least two accounts: (1) upping the penalty to over 6 years, which means that people charged/found guilty of online libel won’t be allowed probation. It is worse than the current grounds of libel; and mind you, there have been unwavering moves to “decriminalize libel.” (2) this act is worst than the Human Security Act (or Terror Law of Arroyo) because it allows the government to shut down sites without warrants, to spy into the most personal of our accounts (online, telecommunications, cellphones, etc). Now, who are you calling stupid, eh? You are an apologist for Noynoy clearly funneling all the blame to Sotto. Come on now! The president has all the responsibility. He signed the damn act. Ganyan rin si Erap, at culpable siya dun. Whew.
